About Me:  Hello. I am Karen Hambrecht, a  Kindergarten teacher at St. Patrick School. I began teaching at St. Patrick School seven years ago and am quite pleased to be here! Previous to that, I taught Kindergarten through Grade Five in the Medford Public Schools for many years. During my last three years in Medford, I mentored a Kindergarten team.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my granddaughter, gardening, playing the piano, beaching (I’m learning to paddleboard), and skiing.

Education:  I am a graduate of Salem State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.

Memorable Teaching Moment:  I have had many memorable moments in teaching over the years. It’s always special when you receive that first smile, or a drawing or note as only a Kindergartener can deliver! It does make your heart sing!

A quote that has been meaningful to me is, “You may have tangible wealth untold; caskets of jewels and coffers of gold. Richer than I you can never be. I had a mother who read to me.”, by Strickland Gillian
