Dear Saint Patrick School Community,

The excitement is ramping up here for a great school year.  The classrooms have all been cleaned, hallways painted and floors waxed so teachers can start getting their room set-up for the first day of school.  Only one week until our ice-cream social!

Today you should be receiving a welcome letter from your child’s homeroom teacher either through regular email or through Teacher Ease.  If you do not receive a letter or access to Teacher Ease by the end of today please contact the school office tomorrow and we will make sure you are set up properly.

I want to provide everyone with a couple of staffing updates since my last letter.  Nick Colarossi will unfortunately not be joining our faculty as first expected as the middle school religion teacher due to recent health issues.  We will keep Nick in our prayers and hope that our paths will cross again in the future.  I am very excited to announce that Joanne Catizone has been hired as the new middle school religion teacher and eighth grade homeroom teacher.  Mrs. Catizone has her BA and Master’s from Lesley College and has taught for 6 years including time at Saint Agnes School and Saint Jeanne d’Arc School.

It is also my pleasure to announce that we have hired Kyle Lee as the new middle school science teacher.  Kyle is a younger teacher whose experience consists mainly of teaching and volunteering overseas in the Middle East, China, and the Dominican Republic.  Kyle has a great deal of content knowledge and exciting ideas how to link inquiry-based learning projects and critical thinking to the new Next Generation Science Standards.  Kyle has a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Teaching from Brandeis University.

The Parent-Student Handbook, the daily schedule and updating the website are on my priority list for this week.  Communication regarding those will hopefully soon follow.  I know there will be bumps in the road and I appreciate your patience as I learn more and more about the school, the policies, procedures, history and vision. I can’t thank the teachers and parents enough who have been putting in time and effort this summer to help us get prepared for the school year.

God bless,

Anthony Fontana
